The inspiration for this image was found while watching a cat eat its kitten.

The flap of a moth’s wing…
We were young once. Not to say that anything has changed much since then, but…
Each blurred millennium has tromped deep paths between the scales.
And only long bursts of promise still grew in turquoise fluffy flames in all directions.
“Everything will be all right! We’ll always be together! I’ll love you for a full minute more until eternity! You’ll be safe in my arms!”
Hah … We did not discern between those words the whiteness of the hardness of the thin bone fingers . We could not hear the rumble of the gears and wheels of war spinning in the name of the Copper God. Nor did we smell the scent of butterflies leaving their nestled, flabby bellies.

How much expression in this agony, in this thirst to live at all costs!

ABOUT THE MASK
This piece is handcrafted from papier-mâché and finished with a mixed-media painting technique. The surface is sealed with a protective varnish.
On the mask you can see the texture of the scales, turquoise feathers, dogs ribs, butterfly,
the bottom of the buckshot, 1 cent, clock.
The mask is wall-mounted, but it can be made for wearing, which, however, is not recommended due to the fragility of the bone attachment point.
